Ophthalmology Fall Conference 2024
The purpose of this symposium is to increase the education and knowledge of all aspects of vision care and research, with an emphasis in challenges in diagnosis and management in ophthalmology. This symposium will focus on areas of pediatric ophthalmology, orbital and oculoplastics and retina. This educational activity is aimed at practicing ophthalmologists, subspecialty ophthalmologists, optometrists, ophthalmology residents and fellows, medical students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, vision scientists, engineers, photographers and technicians.
Target Audience
This educational activity is aimed at practicing ophthalmologists, subspecialty ophthalmologists, fellows, residents, optometrists, medical students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and vision scientists.
Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Evaluate updates in subspecialty diagnosis and treatment, particularly in the realms of pediatric ophthalmology, orbital and oculoplastics and retina.
- Recognize time-sensitive diagnoses which would most benefit from subspecialty care, versus those that need immediate action, versus those that can be managed locally. Panel discussions and real-world examples will be provided, including pearls and pitfalls, by experienced presenters.
- Identify different subsets of rare diseases like retinoblastoma, and identify how advances in technology (like AI) can be used to supplement the practice of ophthalmology.
- Learn different structural goals and results of Asian blepharoplasty and browplasty.
