41st Annual Midwinter Retina Symposium
Please join us for the 41st Annual Midwinter Retina Symposium, "When Retina Intersects with Primary Eye Care." This year's event will provide attendees with a better understanding of the basics to vitreoretinal surgery techniques and overview of new advances, offer guidance about how and when to refer patients to specialists and identify which specialists are needed, and highlight key uses of new technology in ophthalmology.
Target Audience
This educational activity is aimed at practicing ophthalmologists, subspecialty ophthalmologists, optometrists, fellows, residents, medical students, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, vision scientists and retina photographers.
Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- Recognize conditions managed by retinal specialists, including complications of cataract surgery and retinal detachment, and then create plans for appropriate timing for referral or how to begin initial/temporizing treatment until the patient can reach a retina surgeon.
- Review intraocular lens (IOL) dislocations and their effects on patients/vision, and identify options for management, visual outcomes, and potential complications that can occur with scleral-fixated IOL surgery.
- Describe relevant updates to the current state of telemedicine and/or artificial intelligence in ophthalmology, in considering pros/cons for incorporating into clinical practice.
