Learning objectives: 
  • Identify the complexities of Retinal ganglion cells (RGC) genesis and the non-autonomous influence they have during development.

  • Review RGC degeneration and the pros and cons of current models to study the process.

  • Evaluate the link between RGC development and RGC regeneration and discuss the remaining hurdles to RGC replacement
