Learning objectives: 
  • Identify the biological role and functional significance of the ARMS2 protein in the pathophysiology of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
  • Explain the rationale and methodology for developing a cone-rich zebrafish model to study mutant ARMS2–associated AMD.
  • Evaluate how findings from the ARMS2 zebrafish model may inform future strategies for disease characterization and therapeutic development in AMD research.
