The CMH Palliative Care education course will address gaps in communication skills for physicians and mid-level providers specific to seriously ill patients and families.
There is a documented need to increase the knowledge and competence of physician and mid-level providers when handling seriously ill patient cases. Specifically, this course will address how to handle the delivery of bad news, how to facilitate discussion and decision making of the “Do Not Resuscitate” status, and facilitate/empower patient decision making.
The Medical College of Wisconsin is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
