Program Description: 

This educational activity includes both didactic lectures and case-based presentations geared towards the pediatric emergency medicine provider. Presentations from pediatric emergency medicine providers and subspecialists cover a wide range of topics that include evidence-based medicine approach to pediatric resuscitation and trauma, public health topics such as health disparities and community violence, pediatric mental health, and management of other common acute pediatric illnesses. The series aims to educate providers on current evidence-based medicine and improve performance in providing pediatric emergency care, as well as provide information on resources for patients, families and providers within our healthcare system and community.

  • Gain an appreciation for why gender-affirming medical and behavioral health care is important
  • Learn basics of medical interventions and how this may affect your medical evaluation in the emergency department and
  • Establish some practical means of creating a more gender-affirming care environment
