Patient Case Discussion helps to fill in the collaborative gap in medicine. Often times there are patients that we may not know what the next best step in care is, or there are patients that we learned a significant change in management practice that we would like to share. At these discussions, we aim to discuss patients in detail to learn what could be done next, what could have been done differently, or what can be done the next time a patient comes in with similar complaints. Our end goal is to improve patient care.

- Define risks and clinical symptoms of common causes of respiratory failure/distress in the newborn.
- Design a differential diagnosis for newborn respiratory failure using a physiological approach.
- Distinguish pulmonary, cardiovascular and other systemic causes of newborn respiratory failure.
- Plan the management of common causes of respiratory failure in the newborn.
