Program Description: 

In caring for critically ill children in the PICU with neurological illnesses or conditions, the critical care section recognized that multi-disciplinary coordination of care will improve outcomes and increase communication and collaboration among providers from different disciplines.  These sessions will review and discuss an evidence-based approach to the care of these patients.

Individual participants’ information will be shared with ABP through the ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).

ABP MOC Statement:
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 12 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

Target audience: 

Pediatric Critical Care in Faculty Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Trainees.

Learning objectives: 
  1. Current practice of participants includes lack of uniform awareness of up to date knowledge in the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of critically ill pediatric patients with neurological conditions.
  2. By utilizing the multi-disciplinary forum there will improved uniform awareness by the team of current clinical practice, through review and discussion of case studies and review of the literature.
  3. This process will increase communication and decrease variation among providers.
