This curriculum addresses best and safest care practices for pediatric urgent care patients. These are patients ages 0 days – 18 years presenting to pediatric urgent care locations. This program is a series of participatory lectures designed to address educational, professional, and system gaps in pediatric urgent care. The curriculum is designed as a rotating 4 week block. Each week of the block has a different overarching theme with the topics being changed each month to address current literature. At the end of each lecture a series of 3-5 questions will be provided to evaluate participant learning. All series will be available via WebEx conference and recorded for later viewing due to nature of Urgent Care working hours.

- The learner will participate in a discussion of current literature from the prior month, then the learner will complete a 3-5 questions quiz at the end of the discussion to demonstrate comprehension of new material in clinical context.
- The learner will participate in a discussion of 1-3 specific cases relating to pediatric morbidity and mortality, then the learner will complete survey at end of discussion identifying possible biases and systemic interventions. Learner will be able to think strategically about patient safety through systemic interventions.
- The learner will participate in a monthly discussion involving both a current topic in pediatric urgent care medicine and a research methodology. At the end of each session the learner will be able to analyze current articles for validity. Each session will conclude with a brief 3-5 question analysis of participant’s knowledge of that week’s research methodology.
- The learner will participate in lecture series with in depth look at current clinical and research topics in the field of pediatric urgent care. At the end of each lecture participant will be able to address each topic in their own clinical practice. Each participant will complete a 3-5 question survey at the end of each session.
