Learning objectives: 

a. To review the clinical and pathological features of X-linked myotubular myopathy (XLMTM) and nemaline myopathy.
b. To discuss the role of nonspecific and specific treatment strategies in XLMTM, with a focus on gene therapy and targeted enzyme replacement therapy.
c. To discuss the role of nonspecific treatment strategies in nemaline myopathy, with a focus on myostatin inhibition and improving treatment paradigms for congenital contracture.
