2017 Updates in PM & R

Physicians face challenges in diagnostic and management of various musculoskeletal, neurophysiologic, cerebral palsy and pelvic floor pain disorders.

Physicians are expected to apply current and up to date practice guidelines in diagnostic, evaluation and management of cerebral palsy and pelvic floor. Practicing physicians will learn new techniques to evaluation common entrapment neuropathies and identify challenges in post-acure care.

Learning Objectives

1.   Define Cerebral Palsy (CP) and identify key history and physical exam findings associated with CP.
2.   Identify medical advances in the early diagnostic of CP
3.   Identify available medical and surgical treatment options for spasticity in CP.
4.   Identify other rehab management approaches for CP.
5.   Review traditional diagnostic criteria for entrapment neuropathies.
6.   Discuss evolving concept in EMG signal analysis.
7.   Illustrate the role of internal topography.
8.   Identify current changes for all levels of Post-Acute Care (PAC).
9.   Evaluate how the PAC Care developments may or may not affect how and where you see patients.
10. Select appropriate models of care to engage your system leaderson on PAC strategies.
11. List visceral causes of pelvic pain and musculoskeletal causes of pain.
12. Describe the interactions between visceral causes of pelvic pain and musculoskeletal causes of pelvic pain.
13. Discuss the current treatments of pelvic floor dysfunctions and pain.
