Program Description:

This event is intended to foster community systems of care to promote the social and emotional development of infants and young children. The event will discuss the tenants of healthy social and emotional development, as well as alternations in gene expression, brain development and ultimately behavior in young children chronically exposed to toxic stress. The role of trauma-informed care in mitigating the effects of toxic stress will be examined, as well as national and state resources related to the early identification of children with mental health challenges and care for such children and their families.
