The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Faculty Development Conference is a one-day educational activity designed to enhance faculty skills in teaching, feedback, professionalism, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in medical education. This conference addresses identified gaps in faculty development related to inconsistent feedback practices, limited formal training in educational methods, and emerging challenges and opportunities associated with AI in academic settings. Through expert-led sessions and practical examples, participants will gain strategies to promote psychological safety, reinforce professional behaviors, deliver effective “on-the-spot” teaching, and appropriately integrate AI tools into teaching, assessment, and curriculum design to improve educational effectiveness and learner outcomes.
