This conference is intended to enhance the overall fund of knowledge required for the radiation oncologist to treat patients in all oncologic subspecialties and to inform the radiation oncologist on quality delivery of these technologies.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Analyze the role of linear energy transfer (LET) mapping in improving treatment precision and reducing toxicity during posterior fossa irradiation for pediatric brain tumor patients.
  • Assess treatment planning techniques that minimize the risk of radiation necrosis in pediatric patients undergoing posterior fossa irradiation.
  • Apply LET mapping data to optimize radiation treatment plans for pediatric posterior fossa tumors while preserving critical normal tissue.
