Program Description: 

SPUC weekly webinar series provides timely evidence-based education to physicians and advance practice providers who care for children in acute care settings. The Society for Pediatric Urgent Care will provide this webinar to its members in both a real time and an archived format. SPUC weekly webinar series will feature speakers and learners interested in improving the quality of urgent care from across the nation.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to

  • Explain the basic pathophysiology of PID.
  • Be familiar with the diagnostic criteria for PID.
  • Be comfortable with obtaining sexual history from an adolescent.
  • Discuss epidemiology and risk factors of PID.
  • Identify microorganisms that may be responsible for PID.
  • Understand how to triage and determine disposition for a patient with PID
  • Describe appropriate treatment and follow-up for patients diagnosed with PID using the most recent CDC guidelines.
