This weekly transplant service line lecture serves as an educational forum for team members, providing an opportunity to discuss a variety of clinical, surgical, and system-based topics relevant to transplant care. It promotes interdisciplinary learning, case-based discussions, and continuous improvement in patient management.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Analyze the association between perioperative catecholamine vasopressor use and renal allograft outcomes, including delayed graft function, arrhythmias, and length of stay in kidney transplant recipients.
  • Differentiate the renal and systemic hemodynamic effects of angiotensin II compared with adrenergic vasopressors when managing perioperative hypotension in kidney transplantation.
  • Formulate a patient-specific vasopressor selection strategy for kidney transplant recipients with perioperative hypotension, incorporating donor factors (e.g., cold ischemia time), recipient risk profile, and emerging clinical evidence.
