Program Description: 

This weekly transplant service line lecture serves as an educational forum for team members, providing an opportunity to discuss a variety of clinical, surgical, and system-based topics relevant to transplant care. It promotes interdisciplinary learning, case-based discussions, and continuous improvement in patient management.

  • Appreciate the recent changes in organizational structure of leadership for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN)
  • Understand how both internal and external stressors to the OPTN has resulted in disruption of activities of the OPTN including cessation of committee support and policy development
  • Be called to act to assure the ongoing operations of the OPTN continue without disruption to protect patients and donor families
