Program Description: 

This weekly transplant service line lecture serves as an educational forum for team members, providing an opportunity to discuss a variety of clinical, surgical, and system-based topics relevant to transplant care. It promotes interdisciplinary learning, case-based discussions, and continuous improvement in patient management.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Identify key donor factors associated with higher-risk deceased donor kidneys.
  • Differentiate potentially reversible injury from irreversible chronic kidney injury.
  • Evaluate how biopsy, machine perfusion, imaging, and donor characteristics can guide kidney acceptance decisions.
  • Apply donor and recipient factors to make informed kidney offer decisions.
