Description of the series:

The Transplant Service Line Lecture Series is designed to enhance knowledge and foster collaboration in the field of transplantation. This series focuses on key topics such as patient care optimization, innovative research, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the latest advancements in transplant medicine. It provides a platform for education, discussion, and sharing best practices to improve outcomes in organ transplantation.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Identify the historical context of corticosteroid development and early recognition of side effects​
  • Review current state of evidence related to neuropsychiatric adverse effects related to glucocorticoids ​to better understand the spectrum of effects, incidence, risk factors, and theories of pathophysiology​
  • Explore current and emerging treatment options for steroid induced mania, psychosis and insomnia
