Program Description: 

This is a series of ongoing, quarterly educational presentations focused on unique back and neck care topics. The goal of this series is to provide greater awareness of the specialty services offered within the F&MCW network related to the spine and also sharing of best practices from specialty providers.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Define indications for neurosurgical or orthopaedic surgery consultation.
  • Direct the recommended workup for vertebral fracture in the acute and outpatient setting.
  • Provide education on the workup and treatment of osteoporosis after vertebral compression fracture.
  • Improve patient experience and satisfaction across the care continuum by broadening the connection between generalists and specialists in back/neck care.
