The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery Advances in Minimally Invasive General Surgery Symposium will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023. The symposium will take place at the GMS 1097 Classroom in the Gehl-Mulva Science Center, MCW-Green Bay campus, located at 161 Reid Street, De Pere, WI 54115.

Target Audience

Physicians and APPs, including:

  • Surgeons (general surgeons, thoracic surgeons, surgical residents and fellows)
  • Gastroenterologists
  • Primary care providers
  • Advanced practice providers and other allied health professionals

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Cite the national recommendations for the management of choledocholithiasis
  • Describe the indications, contraindications, side effects, and outcomes of newly approved medications for the treatment of obesity, to their peers and patients
  • Describe the surgical approach options and mesh repair options for hernias, with consideration to patient preference, cost-effectiveness, outcomes, and evidence-based guidelines
