This educational activity is designed to familiarize the audience with the current status and future directions of treatments for common and uncommon diseases of the foregut. Diseases of the foregut include extremely common conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease and rare motility disorders such as achalasia. The diagnostic and treatment approaches to these conditions continue to evolve at a rapid pace.

Learning Objectives
- Discuss evolving diagnostic techniques and technologies for evaluating and treating foregut pathology, including:
- Advances in GI motility assessment
- Multichannel intraluminal impedance, dual probe pH, Bravo wireless pH
- Discuss endoscopic therapy of common foregut diseases
- Describe the evolving treatment options for GERD
- Identify the mechanisms for persistent or recurrent symptoms following treatments for esophageal motor disorders and how to evaluate and manage these
- Understand the mechanisms for failure of antireflux procedures and how to evaluate and manage complicated patients who present with issues following fundoplication
