This educational symposium is designed to highlight a broad range of topics related to artificial intelligence (AI) in modern surgical practice. It will familiarize the audience with recent advances in the field, ethical considerations, and regulations surrounding its use.

Learning Objectives

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to: 

  • Review practical strategies for integrating AI-powered tools into surgical workflows and will apply these strategies through case-based exercises to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes in their own clinical practice.
  • Analyze the principles and current applications of computer vision and intraoperative AI technologies, and will evaluate how to safely and effectively incorporate these tools into operative decision-making.
  • Expand interdisciplinary collaboration in the development and implementation of surgical AI solutions, and will engage in structured activities to foster effective teamwork with professionals from diverse backgrounds.

The Artificial Intelligence in Surgery Symposium will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 and Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Medical College of Wisconsin Main Campus, located at 8701 W. Watertown Plank Road, Milwaukee WI, 53226. The event will take place in the Alumni Center. See parking and building entry directions below, as well as photos in the brochure attached under the "agenda" tab. 

Parking: Complimentary lot parking is available across 87th Street from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Follow signage to employee parking lot, pull up to entrance gates.

  • If you do not have an MCW Badge:
    • At the gate, click the gray button that will ring to Public Safety.
    • Wait until someone picks up, and let them know that you are here for the symposium. They will open the gate.
    • Park in any surface lot spot or in the covered parking structure.
  • Cross 87th St. towards the MCW Building in the photo above.
  • Proceed to the MCW main entrance, as seen in the photo.
  • The revolving doors will be locked, to the left and right there are entrances with intercoms. Press the button and tell security you are here for the symposium.
  • Follow signage to the Alumni Center.
