Program Description: 

ThedaCare Internal Medicine Grand Rounds is designed to enhance clinician competence by: recognizing and applying current, evidence-based clinical guidelines; engaging clinicians in reflective practice and interdisciplinary collaboration that leads to more effective care planning and delivery; and, increase delivery of evidence-based patient care, reducing variability in treatment

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Distinguish atypical presentations and important mimics of acute cardiovascular emergencies, accounting for the limitations of relying solely on traditional STEMI criteria.
  • Evaluate contemporary advances in catheter-based management for acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary embolism to determine their impact on patient care.
  • Apply an evidence-based, patient-centered approach that integrates clinical presentation, ECG interpretation, imaging, and guideline-directed therapy when selecting invasive treatment strategies
