The ThedaCare Patient Safety and Care Improvement conference is designed to change physician competence by strengthening their ability to critically analyze adverse outcomes, communicate effectively across disciplines, and apply evidence-based guidelines in complex cases. It is intended to change physician performance by fostering open discussions that translate case-based learning into actionable quality improvement strategies within their practice environment. Ultimately, these conferences aim to improve patient outcomes by reducing preventable errors, enhancing care coordination, and ensuring the consistent application of current best practices to deliver safer, higher-quality care.

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
Learners will develop and implement actionable quality improvement initiatives informed by case reviews to translate lessons learned into measurable improvements in clinical practice, as demonstrated through presentation of follow-up action plans or QI project update
Learners will demonstrate effective communication and collaboration strategies during multidisciplinary discussions to enhance care coordination and reduce fragmentation. Assessment will involve observation of team-based interactions and peer feedback
Attendees will analyze adverse patient outcomes and near- miss events in a structured forum to identify key clinical and systems-level factors contributing to complications, as demonstrated through active participation in case discussions and reflection exercises.
