Neoadjuvant Therapy in Breast Cancer Challenges and Recommendations
November 2, 2013
The main issues that will be addressed are the controversy of is neoadjuvant therapy appropriate for early stage breast cancer and the radiation recommendations in the setting of down-staged disease. The current radiation recommendation are based on stage before systemic therapy which might or might not be appropriate and using neoadjuvant treatment for early stage breast cancer is still controversial and the activity might shed some light on new studies/recommendations. It is our hope that providing evidence to support early stage cancer and evidence to, perhaps, base radiation recommendations on the post neoadjuvant stage will change amongst the many variables that are causing this issue.
