Perinatal Ultrasound Grand Rounds
This educational series is designed for physicians and ultrasonographers who wish to remain current in obstetrical ultrasound topics. This series addresses information related to ultrasound identification and diagnosis of normal and abnormal maternal and fetal structures. Ultrasound images are case studies will be used to illustrate key points presented in the lecture.
Nationally, physicians caring for pregnant women have moved into doing screening obstetrical ultrasounds in their office practices. Screening ultrasounds are used to identify normal and potential problems with the pregnancy. If a problem is identified, referrals to maternal fetal medicine specialists are made. This educational series, directly by subspecialists, provides updated information concerning complications of pregnancy. The case studies will add to the participant’s knowledge, improving their skills and judgment. Incorporating the concepts presented into practice will help providers to make correct diagnosis, treatment plans, and appropriate referrals.
To close the professional practice gap, this series will provide updated content supported by current research and literature, visual demonstrations to assist in identification of normal vs. abnormal, management of problems and clarification for appropriate referrals. This activity will present new practice information regarding perinatal ultrasound, sophisticated performance techniques, and recommendations for management of problems. Case studies will be used to illustrate the new information and its application to obstetrical ultrasound.
