SA Peer Review is held quarterly for invited medical professionals only.
The Wisconsin Child Abuse Network (WI CAN) Educational Series consists of statewide, web-based lectures and case-based discussions on various topics related to child maltreatment delivered and led by subject matter experts. The target audience consists of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, other allied health professionals, law enforcement officials, social workers, and attorneys. The goal of the educational series is to improve the recognition of child maltreatment and management of cases when child maltreatment is a concern.

- Explain how medical testimony can mean the difference between a child standing up to their maltreater alone and having corroborating evidence to support or bolster the disclosure of child maltreatment.
- Outline the component parts of professional medical testimony: corroborate a disclosure and educate a jury on the disclosure but also inform the jury regarding the dangers of maltreatment.
- Understand the effectiveness medical testimony has on substantiating child maltreatment and the impacts on child both immediately and long term.
- Describe the importance of local medical providers getting involved in child maltreatment prosecution, even when there is no access to local CAC's
