Program Description: 

WPA Grand Rounds series features a variety of topics in psychiatry. This virtual series occurs monthly on the the last Thursday of the month from 12pm-1pm CST.

 

Target audience: 
  • Physicians
Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Review the history of, and legal foundations for civil commitment in Wisconsin. 
  • Identify standard of proof for involuntary hospitalization in Wisconsin
  • Analyze the least restrictive alternative and due process/dangerousness concerns in Wisconsin.
  • Review landmark cases and recent case law regarding civil commitment in Wisconsin.
