Program Description:

Presentation of Research findings. Learning current research studies and findings to benefit clinical practice and patients. Also builds expertise in grant development and advance understanding of Pediatric Research.

Target audience:
  • Physician
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Physician Assistant
  • Nurse Psychologist
  • Research Scientists,
  • Residents and Fellows
Learning objectives:
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Describe and interpret the key immunological mechanisms by which platelet-targeted gene therapy induces antigen‑specific immune tolerance, including platelet-mediated antigen presentation, regulatory T-cell induction, and suppression of pathogenic IgE responses in allergic disease models.
  • Critically evaluate preclinical evidence supporting platelet-targeted gene therapy as a strategy to prevent or reduce severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, with emphasis on food allergy models, durability of tolerance, and translational relevance to clinical allergy management.
  • Apply insights from platelet-directed antigen delivery to inform the design and development of novel immune tolerance therapies for allergic and immune-mediated diseases, identifying potential advantages, limitations, and future clinical applications.
