Learning objectives: 
  1. Describe the Linkage to Care Specialist role, how it developed over time, and lessons learned;
  2. Summarize published results from the pilot phase qualitative evaluation of the Linkage to Care intervention, indicating the importance of direct social support from Specialists to clients;
  3. Describe emerging themes from the summative phase qualitative evaluation, including intertwining issues of housing, incarceration, and substance use; navigation of complex systems; and tension between clients' needs and independence; and
  4. Present preliminary quantitative outcomes of the Linkage to Care intervention regarding clients' care engagement and viral suppression.
