Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • 1.  Describe the concept of the "obesity paradox" in established cardiovascular disease.
  • 2.  Define "adiposopathy" and its three main tenets
  • 3.  Understand the physiologic and pathologic differences between varying adipose tissue depots and their impact on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases
  • 4.  Describe the clinical implications obesity heterogeneity and visceral adiposity: and e) Identify several areas for future investigation and clinical adaptation of new   paradigms of obesity as it related to cardiovascular disease risk.
