Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
- 1. Describe the concept of the "obesity paradox" in established cardiovascular disease.
- 2. Define "adiposopathy" and its three main tenets
- 3. Understand the physiologic and pathologic differences between varying adipose tissue depots and their impact on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases
- 4. Describe the clinical implications obesity heterogeneity and visceral adiposity: and e) Identify several areas for future investigation and clinical adaptation of new paradigms of obesity as it related to cardiovascular disease risk.
