Program Description: 

This event is intended to foster community systems of care to promote the social and emotional development of infants and young children. The event will discuss the tenants of healthy social and emotional development, as well as alternations in gene expression, brain development and ultimately behavior in young children chronically exposed to toxic stress. The role of trauma-informed care in mitigating the effects of toxic stress will be examined, as well as national and state resources related to the early identification of children with mental health challenges and care for such children and their families.

The Medical College of Wisconsin is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Medical College of Wisconsin designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
