MCW has faculty members that hold dual roles within the organization. They hold academic appointments and administrative appointments. Our faculty members are well trained scientists and physicians. However, many of them lack the formal business training required to succeed in their leadership positions. There is a lack of knowledge, competence, and performance for emerging faculty leaders for them to take the next step in their career, lead others and keep MCW a strong and thriving organization. We want to give these individuals training in areas which are not always a focus of their degrees, namely business management topics. The goal is to provide these faculty members with a course that will assist them with being more effective in managing costs, setting business priorities, meeting needs of patients, students, and the community.
