ForwardAcademic Half Day Conference - September
This educational activity is designed to help practicing dermatologists and APPs remain up to date on both common and uncommon dermatologic diseases, increasing their medical knowledge and competence in caring for these patients. There is not a specific dermatologic disease or topic which this activity is designed to address, as it is more open-ended and recurrent, allowing for the needs of the department to be met as they change year to year. It will additionally address the needs of maintaining professionalism and ethics in medicine, along with continuing practice improvement by presenting Quality Improvement projects.

Learning Objectives
"Photobiomodulation: My Personal and Professional Journey with Red and Near Infrared Light"
1. Describe the biologic mechanisms and key dosimetric parameters underlying red and near-infrared photobiomodulation.
2. Identify dermatologic conditions for which photobiomodulation has the strongest current clinical evidence.
3. Critically interpret consumer and clinical photobiomodulation device specifications, including irradiance, fluence, distance, and treatment duration.
"A Review of Psychocutaneous Diseases and Management Strategies"
1. Identify distinguishing features of common psychocutaneous diseases.
2. Increase knowledge of pharmacologic and psychologic treatments for those conditions.
3. Improve comfort discussing these diagnoses with patients.
"Gut Feelings & Skin Findings"
1. To review the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and extraintestinal manifestations.
2. To review the clinical presentation, risk factors, and management of specific and non-specific mucocutaneous manifestations of IBD.
3. To review the treatment-related cutaneous manifestations of IBD.
"Vessels, Scales, and More, Oh My! Practical Approach to Dermoscopy of Inflammatory Dermatoses"
1. Understand the rationale and technique used for "inflammoscopy";
2. Recognize and be able to utilize the four-parameter framework while evaluating inflammatory lesions or rashes.
3. Differentiate common papulosquamous and inflammatory dermatoses by their dermoscopic features and patterns.
