Program Description:

Generalized joint hypermobility spectrum disorder, classical, vascular, and hypermobile EDS are all typified by the frequent occurrence of widespread pain. There are many suggested etiologies for the pain. Although musculoskeletal mechanisms are thought to play a role, the mechanism whereby muscles could cause pain in EDS is not generally discussed. This webinar will explore the mechanisms of muscle-related pain in EDS and demonstrate how knowledge of pathophysiological mechanisms of muscle generated pain can be translated into successful treatment approaches.

Learning objectives:
  • Understand why patients with EDS have pain, specifically muscule pain.
  • To be aware of the pathophysiological mechanisms of muscle pain.
  • Develop treatment strategies for muscle related pains in EDS.
