25th Annual Emergency Medicine Research Forum
This educational activity is designed to address a lack of knowledge and a lack of competence by encouraging attendees to critically evaluate each research presentation that is given, identify gaps in the presentation and in the research, and inform the researcher of their evaluation. The intimate atmosphere of this local forum will encourage those with limited knowledge and competency in these skills to attempt to make these evaluations and through practice enhance their knowledge and competence. Further, by listening to the comments of others, attendees will see real-time examples of how others perform this skill. By having a live exchange of ideas the skill can be further refined and practiced, since questions can be immediately discussed.
A structured presentation format will be used for the morning and midday sessions. Discussion will follow each presentation with interactive audience participation. Each research presentation will be critiqued and scored by three emergency medicine judges, including the visiting professor. The midday session will feature a research poster session. The afternoon session will be a visiting professor’s presentation on a current topic in Emergency Medicine.
The Medical College of Wisconsin is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
