2019 Clinical Update in Endocrinology Symposium

Brookfield, WI US
November 1, 2019 to November 2, 2019

This program addresses large populations with common disorders including diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, obesity, thyroid disease.  It also addresses transgender medicine which may be under-served.   Approximately 20% of patients with fragility fractures had their bone disease managed.  Major practice improvement initiatives are centered around diabetes and hypertension.  Obesity is common; causes morbidity and requires multidisciplinary treatment.  Transgender medicine has become more important and physicians have expressed the need for related education.  We will have sessions discussing these topics.

As the population ages the prevalence of osteoporosis has increased.  Additionally there has been an expansion of available treatment options, in addition, to an increase awareness of potential side affects of medications.

Endocrinology and diabetes continues to have ever expanding treatment options, diagnostic tools and understanding of disease pathways.  The role of the primary care provider is critical in the management of endocrine and metabolic disorders.  There is a need for continued knowledge to allow the achievement of treatment guidelines.
