Contemporary Neurological Challenges in Community Practice: A Practical Approach

This course will seek to improve the ability to identify signs and symptoms associated with specific neurologic disorders; understand treatment options and referral guidelines for patients with neurological symptoms; instruct on follow up recommendations to enable the primary care provider to successfully manage neurological symptoms within their practice.

Learning Objectives

  1. Present evidence-based as well as expert evidence approaches to addressing the common problems identified.
     
  2. Review the approaches to obtaining the most meaningful diagnostic tests for a given presentation.
     
  3. Provide strategies to aid in optimizing consultations through understanding of choosing the optimal subspecialists for specific cases for optimized treatment or when to choose a general neurologist to aid in situations requiring clarification of diagnosis.
