Learning Objectives
- Review the need to investigate rather than just acknowledge intersectionalities, and to modify health care practices accordingly.
- Describe how the role of identity – e.g., racial/ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, geographic, etc. – in developing, maintaining, and intervening in health decision-making.
- Review ways in which social determinants of health relate to health disparities in the population described in the textbook chapter selected.
