Program Description: 

Attendees of Pediatric Grand Rounds will learn from leading experts state-of-the art clinical and basic science best available evidence in a wide variety of topics in pediatric medicine. Information presented will enable attendees to remain current on best practices that improve their ability to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes.

Learning objectives: 

Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:

  • Recognize risk factors for morbidity and mortality in infants with single ventricle heart disease during the interstage period.
  • Identify key components for the development and implementation of a home monitoring program to optimize outcomes for interstage congenital heart disease infants.
  • Describe the recognized and potential benefits of a home monitoring program and adjunct surveillance strategies for infants with single ventricle heart disease.
  • Discuss the impact of a multi-center quality improvement collaborative on the management of interstage infants following the Norwood procedure for hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
