Fourth Annual Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Symposium
Children with congenital heart disease have higher rates of neurodevelopmental problems when compared to the general population. There are variations among cardiac centers regarding levels of knowledge about these problems and “best practices” to address them.
The population of children with congenital heart disease who survive to adulthood is growing. Therefore, professionals who work this population need to increase their knowledge about the neurodevelopmental problems these children face, and the best practices to address them in order to maximize QOL across the lifespan.
This symposium will bring together a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals to educate them about clinical, quality improvement, and research topics related to neurodevelopmental services for individuals with pediatric and congenital heart disease.
Participants will increase their knowledge about neurodevelopmental services for individuals with congenital heart disease on their symposium evaluation forms that they complete after the conference.
