Inspiring Engagement in Change

“Culture eats strategy for lunch” is a well-known axiom that refers to the importance of cultural acceptance of change. In fact, according to various independent research studies, between 60% to 90% of change initiatives fail because leaders focus solely on the quality of a proposed solution and not on engaging stakeholders.

When change leaders take the time to: 

  1. Understand the degree to which stakeholders support the change. 
  2. Learn about the interests, concerns and motivators of stakeholders so they show how the change connects with these. 
  3. Design clear and compelling communication.
  4. Develop a comprehensive influence strategy, they greatly increase the chances that the change will succeed and be sustained over time.
