Data in Motion! Analytics Symposium

This CE activity will address how data is used to impact and improve care to a variety of patient populations. We have presentations that will show how improvement work impacted both inpatient and outpatient populations. Specific presentations focus on:

  • Patients with diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • NICU patients presenting with admission hypothermia.
  • Expansion of primary care to improve overall health outcomes
  • Improving outcomes for asthma patients.
  • Using data to understand the needs of patients with bronchiolitis and adjusting care to meet patient’s needs.
  • How the development of a partnership with American Family Children’s Hospital improved the care of children with special needs.

Learning Objectives

After this conference the participants will be able to:

  • Describe how data and analytics can be used to inform improvement initiatives following a plan, do, study, act (PDSA) cycle.
  • Define how to synthesize data and apply statistical process methods to assist in understanding specific populations and how to best serve that population.
  • Recognize the methods that can be used with analytics to inspire, align and inform daily work to set realistic targets for growth and budgets.
  • Identify how using self-service tools allow operational leaders to better align resources to improve patient care outcomes.
  • Explore the basics of measurement, how to use measurement for improvement as well as using measurement for planning.
  • Analyze different types of measures and how to development measurement plans.
