The research issue we wish to address is increasing research activity within the department, and forming/capitalizing on collaborations with faculty from other departments and institutions.

1. Given disease prevalence, sensitivity and specificity, learn how to quickly estimate the positive predictive value

2. Understand sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values WITHOUT MEMORIZING THE DEFINITIONS

3. Understand how statistically thinking can improve clinical desicion making, including the Bayesian approach

4. Understand basic descriptive statistics
