2016 Department of Psychiatry Career Development and Academic Promotion Workshop
This workshop is designed for Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Faculty who are interested in career development and academic promotion. This program will target the promotions process and specific topics within psychiatric medicine and psychological career advancement. Lectures will cover mentoring within psychiatry and behavioral health, career balance, CV and professional portfolio preparation, and the promotions process within MCW.
Target Audience
This program is only open to Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Faculty within MCW.
Learning Objectives
- Outline the four pathways to academic promotion at MCW and the criteria and timelines for each track
- Evaluate the development of a CV and Professional Portfolio, apply success strategies to participants' professional plans, and review and discuss self-appraisal tools
- Integrate principles of career-life balance that can help assure successful professional development
