WI CPCP Education Modules 2025

Funded by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Wis.Stat.20.435 and 51.442 and in part from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a 5-year cooperative agreement.
 
The WI CPCP offers CME/CE online education, case discussion and didactic opportunities, and annual mental health conferences. Following the completion of the on-line education modules, you have the opportunity to schedule in-person or virtual Q&A sessions with a WI CPCP child psychiatrist and/or pediatric psychologist. In-person or virtual educational sessions on assessments, treatment options, and psychopharmacology are available upon request from your WI CPCP regional clinical program coordinator.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
 
  • Recognize current pharmacologic options for mental health management of common mental health illnesses which providers can utilize in their daily practice, evaluated by a post-module quiz, allowing feedback and opportunity for further clarity.
  • Identify appropriate current mental health screening tools and rating scales, as well as identify the next steps in addressing potential mental health issue(s) of daily practice.  
  • Develop the primary care provider’s ability to treat patients with difficult behavior and/or trauma, to reflect on one’s resilience, and consider opportunities to incorporate into daily care; online resources, pearls and pitfalls with experiences will be shared. 
  • Discuss the primary care provider's role in navigating school settings with children and adolescents suffering from mental and behavioral health issues. Offering practical knowledge that clinicians can implement in their daily practice and offer to families.
