This activity is designed to improve clinician competence and performance in the assessment and management of common psychiatric conditions encountered in primary care settings. Participants will gain practical, evidence-based strategies for managing perimenopausal mental health symptoms, substance use disorders, depression, and behavioral symptoms of dementia, while increasing awareness and utilization of Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension consultation services. These improvements are intended to support more timely and evidence-based care.

Learning Objectives
Participants who engage in this education intervention will be able to:
- Apply evidence-based approaches to the evaluation and management of common psychiatric presentations, including menopause-related symptoms, substance use disorders, dementia-related sundowning, and depression that has not responded adequately to initial SSRI treatment.
- Describe the consultation services and clinical expertise offered by the Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension psychiatrist team.
- Identify strategies for integrating Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension consultation services into clinical practice to enhance the care of patients with complex behavioral health needs.
