Program Description: 
The number of children living in single-parent households is high.  Easy explanations or easy access to noncustodial parents are not always possible.  This session will explore ways to help children address their feelings about these difficult situations.

Learning objectives: 
Participants who engage in this educational intervention will be able to:
  • Identify the impact of an absentee parent on a child’s psychological functioning.
  • Utilize existing supportive adults in the child’s life to provide care and support.
  • Create a classroom environment where these children will not feel marginalized.
